Luyao “Zachary” Guo is a Young Artist of the Artemisia Akademie in NYC. In 2022, he became the winner of NY State MNTA Piano Competition, receipt of “the Most Creative Program” Award at the 7th Claudette Sorel International Piano Competition, and the Manhattan School of Music Precollege Piano Concerto Competition. He has won 2nd prize in 2021 Piano Teachers’ Congress of New York Competition, 3rd Prize in 2019 International Gershwin International Piano Competition, 1st prize in the 2017 American Protégé Piano Competition, 1st prize in the 2017 Rondo Young Artists Piano Festival, 1st prize in the 2016 Piano Teachers’ Congress of New York Piano Competition, and 2nd prize in the Chopin Award at the Schubert Club 2015 Piano Competition in Greenwich, CT. Zachary has appeared in the Stella Concert Series in NYC and “Music in the Park” of the Impromptu Classical Music Recitals Series in Connecticut.

As a solo pianist, Zachary has performed Mozart piano Concerto No. 23, Beethoven Concerto No. 1 and Grieg Concerto Op. 16 with the Torun Symphony Orchestra in Poland, as well as Chopin Concerto No. 2 with the Orchestra del Music Fest Perugia. He will be playing Saint Saens 5th Piano Concerto in F major with the Manhattan School of Music Precollge Symphony Orchestra in Feburary, 2023.

Zachary has attended Piano Texas in the US, Mozarteum Summer Piano Academy in Austria, Paderewski Piano Academy in Poland, Academie Internatinale d'ete de Nice in France, and Perugia Piano Festival in Italy. He has taken piano masterclasses with Arie Vardi, Bernd Goetzke, Veda Kaplinsky, Jerome Lowenthal, Balaze Szokoley, Jan Jiracek von Arnim, Akiko Ebi, Noriko Ogawa, Dina Yoffe, Pavlina Dokovska, Ilana Vered, and Ursula Oppens.

Zachary was a cellist of the String Trio group in Stamford Music and Arts Academy. He has won 1st prize in the 2017 American Protégé String Competition and 2rd prize in 2017 Rondo Young Artists Festival String Competition, and performed in Weill Hall of the Carnegie Hall as both a pianist and cellist. Zachary is currently a student of Dr. Jiayin Li and Prof. Solomon Mikowsky of the Manhattan School of Music Precollege. He started piano with Ms. Lu Ye and continued with Ms. Tema Blackstone for five years. He had periodically had masterclasses with Mr. Hung-Kuan Chen.
